Terms of Service

The service

UYE provides a private, invitation-based network for recording and preserving family history, including people, relationships, photographs, documents, and stories, organized into Heritage Spaces you and your collaborators control.

Your content

You and your Heritage Space's other stewards retain ownership of everything you upload. UYE does not claim ownership of family content, and only uses it to operate the service you've asked for — storing it, displaying it to people you've given access to, and providing features like face-matching suggestions described in the Privacy Policy.

You're responsible for having the right to upload material you add, including photographs and documents involving other people.

Plans and billing

UYE offers a free plan and paid plans with additional storage and collaboration limits, described on the Pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance for the interval you choose (monthly or annual).

You can cancel a paid plan at any time from Billing settings; your plan remains active through the period you've already paid for. If a payment fails, your existing content is never deleted — only the creation of new content may be paused until payment recovers, as described in the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account from Privacy settings. If you solely own a Heritage Space that other members or content depend on, deletion is blocked until that space is transferred or resolved, to protect shared family history from being deleted by one person's account closure.

Acceptable use

Don't use UYE to upload content you don't have the right to share, to harass or impersonate others, or to attempt to access Heritage Spaces or accounts you haven't been given permission to access.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially after formal legal review, we'll aim to give notice before the change takes effect.
